RAMROD 117,988
Raise it to $20 and they better have no excuse that the "mcflurry machine is broken" anymore when it isn't, they just lazy at refilling it and cleaning it. SlayMeToVenus 3,290
I make $13.25, about to get a raise to $14. I’m the assistant manager at a KFC. I couldn’t imagine making less & having kids or other people that depend on me. It’s hard living on my own with the money I make now. I don't have a Diamond Heart. Morphine Prince 109,934
The truth is people want to earn more than people who work in fast food or cleaning jobs because they perceive them as “unskilled” and “low” - but these jobs are pretty essential. Many people also like to feel superior to others and are willing to let people not make a living wage just to feel good about themselves.
TimisaMonster 31,073
How people think even $15 an hour is sustainable to live off of is astounding to me...the government is so out of touch... It’s just a giant game of catch up This is literally Republican talking points and propaganda used to prevent the increase of the minimum wage. Ever heard of inflation? It's the fact that prices for food, housing, goods, etc go up over time. And this happens regardless of whether pay also goes up. Wouldn't it make sense that if prices on literally everything else goes up, that minimum wage and wages should too? Otherwise how could people afford anything in the long-run

Meredith Grey 3,225
It should be higher than 15 dollars, i work in food service and make 14 an hour and only bring home like 350 a week. And it’s hard to get 40 hours a week at most places because the hours are “competitive”. To this day i don’t understand how companies say they have “competitive” pay and hours like it’s a GOOD thing?? But 350 a week is not livable when an apartment is like 1,100 plus utilities a month. Jobs should pay you enough to atleast have a home, food to eat and drink, and have a car or transportation. Especially considering how draining it is. Before working in fast food I was the secretary at a law firm and didn’t realize how good it actually was there. What’s even crazier to me is that half my managers have college degrees and work here because the pay is better than any job they can get with their degree. Wait a minute.... my job uses this “system”, we’re basically consigned to work the same schedule that generally is the same from week to week, changing seasonally. If you’re sick you can get written up if you don’t actually find someone to replace you on “your” shift and you still don’t come in. The only way to avoid it is to go to a doctor or minute clinic and get a note. Like they put it all on you and it doesn’t feel right, but I didn’t know if I had a leg to stand on to call this kind of stuff out. I just figured it was legal I guess?? fragment-fragment--bul-uh...scab-uh..fragment-foot, bullet fragment foot bich!
