I don’t think Britain should have left the EU but I do think the EU has some serious flaws that make ppl what to leave/reform it. The EU needs some serious improvements to get countries to want to be a part of it

Yeah, like every country they have issues. The thing is a lot of former communist countries are dying to get into the EU because of various thing but England and Wales voting to leave the EU was just pure xenophobia and ignorance

I’m confused when ppl say xenophobia. Most EU ppl in EU are white. Do ppl mean that England was racist towards Germans, Greeks, French etc even though they are white too? Or is it more of a cultural, linguistic, “ppl are taking our jobs” attitude and not about skin color?

From what I've heard, it is the “ppl are taking our jobs” attitude, especially towards Poles, Slovaks, Romanians and other new members of EU. However, most of those "stolen jobs" are jobs, that many English people are not willing to do.

I'm not having fun tonight.

Its not just this, its aimed at poorer countries within the EU. Its not just race/skin colour, but its where you come from.

My brother was telling me a story. He was talking a train from Plymouth to Bristol, and there was a person on there shouting at a Spanish student who was explaining to her friends in Spanish something they were studying on. Apparently she wasn't welcome on a train if she didn't speak the "Queens English". And guess what? The man shouting the abuse didn't get taken off, but the Spanish student and her friends. Its disgusting, and a prime example of Xenophobia.

Unfortunately, that type of behaviour has been on the increase since 2016 in England. Its so wrong and disturbing

Irony is that lots of young English man are coming to my country for their bachelors party because of cheaper alcohol in central Europe and it is so embarrasing to see them walking through our historic city drunk and behaving like animals withou any respect to others around. It really makes me feel unconfortable to be near them. I used to have this image that British people are very high class, but these kind of experience ruined it for me.

Not gonna lie, the UK was one of the big of why EU is so flawed. The UK has never wanted the UE to become something more than a commercial union, anything slightly political was slowed down.

In order to properly work, the EU needs to become more political with real political intents and something more "federal"

The people who do that are trash, they aren't high class at all. But there's a certain arrogance that comes with those people. They think because they are English/British that they can get away with anything they want, like trashing a whole town during a football match. Its not right at all, and I'm sorry you had to witness that behaviour

“Xenophobia” is fear or hatred against foreigners. It goes beyond the colour of the skin, it’s prejudice against anything that is from outside the country.

I know. I was just trying to figure out which reason it mainly was. Cause xenophobia is largely tied to skin color

Well the stereotype is that British travellers are always drunk and disruptive. I was in a bar once in Greece and some random Brit wanted to pick a fight with me because I asked where he was from. :saladga:
