So it was, but only among republicans. Truthfully, a lot of people, even some conservatives and moderates, felt like it was blown out of proportion (not unlike the Trump impeachment now although I'd say it is a bit within proportion lol).

It's worth noting that the country was not quite as polarized then as it is today. This sort of started the current trend because the GOP *despised* Clinton.
