I'm wondering how many ACTUALLY do tho. I've never known a case of anyone personally that was even asked to work that many hours much less forced

 

I'm sure there's companies out there that do but usually if they need that many hours they tend to hire more people for different shifts rather than having to pay someone that much overtime

 

Like if ur issue is greed islt doesn't even make sense to pay that much overtime

No I agree with that. No one should be forced to work that long and I think a law to protect ppl from that makes sense

 

It's just that ur kinda making it sound like it's some kind of common thing for companies to want their workers to work 60 to 70 hours and unless the UK is a completely different planet that's literally an extremely rare thing

 

Cuz again, even companies that are very greedy and don't give a sh*t about their workers normally would never demand that because overtime gets so expensive. They typically just hire more ppl for another shift if they wanna keep place running longer

 

And in the very rare instances ppl do work that many hours for the same company it's usually offered not demanded

Oh no not for bills but for giving the appropriate time to projects, I'm not sure what minimum wage is here

Oh ok. Yeah I've had time in the past where I didn't feel like accepting the overtime but I just said yes because of I didn't it would just make meeting deadlines more stressful and difficult so might as well just work more hours and get paid overtime

 

The most I've every worked in a single week tho is 53 or 54 hours tho

that would be my dream weekly hours at this point haha on average mine is about 75-80 hours but I love my job so it's not really a burden

I love my new job too (started 9 months ago) and time does not drag there like in my old job and I don't hate my life getting up in the morning to go to work either (like I also did with my old job lol)

 

But I work only in the range of 40 to 45 hours (40 is the norm but on busy weeks sometimes I'm offedered an extra hour a day). Once I worked 47 hours on an exceptionally busy week. That was my highest for this job

 

47 was not difficult again cuz I like this job. But I can't imagine 80

 

But it's nice they pay overtime after 40 hours cuz in my Province legally they only have to after 44 hours which is what many companies do (again my last job)

that's great! it's so nice to hear when people love their job and it sounds like a great time balance too

I've always worked from home so far but I think working my hours at an office or somewhere I had to travel to and from everyday would be very different and draining
