Honestly it’s not surprising at ALL that the virus is transforming, that’s just how viruses work.

As long as it’s not resistent against the vaccine your plans are as likely (or unlikely) to happen as before

omfg give me a break, I just recovered from COVID this week and I'm reading news about the new variants and how it doesn't matter if you had the regular strain, you can get reinfected by the new ones  I just thought I'd be safe for a few months before I get the vaccine

it is a serious question. China hasn't allowed researchers from the WHO until now to check ground zero of the virus. I think there is a chance it could have leaked from a lab. But it can also be from the wild. We don't know until we find patient zero, the original host of the virus, or if we find it in a petri dish.

But there's thousands of variants, mutating is what viruses do, as long as it doesn't mutate away from what makes the vaccine effective I wouldn't panic yet.
