BREAKING: Speaker Nancy Pelosi says the democratic majority leader in the House of Representatives will introduce a resolution tomorrow morning which calls on the Vice President to convene and mobilize the Cabinet to activate the 25th Amendment to declare the President incapable of executing the duties of his office, after which the Vice President would immediately exercise powers as acting President.  
·If Unanimous Consent isn’t agreed upon, the legislation will brought up on the Floor the following day. The Democrats are calling on the Vice President to respond within 24 hours. Should he not respond democratic leaders will proceed with bringing impeachment legislation to the floor of the House.

I think they will regardless of what Pence does. But they want the ultimatum to be public.

Does the impeachment need to be finished before Biden is sworn in? Could it realistically be finished before then?

Fair question. I don't know. I do know the the Pardon has to be very expansive to cover everything he has done and could cover his New York crimes.

I might be wrong but I think you have to be convicted already to be pardoned. That's why his lawyers keep telling him "there's no such thing as a preemptive pardon".

Even if Pence does pardon the guy who had a mob of nazis screaming "HANG PENCE!" as they attempted to overthrow the US government, New York apparently has plenty of non-pardonable crimes to get him on.

Guys you are missing the point, the gop way very well not go ahead with the 25th amendment, but we want it on record that they refused to take action. So in future they can hold it against them, it is the smart thing to do

They went over this on the news the other day. He does not need to be in office to be impeached. And we swore in a US justice in 7 days we can have an impeachment in less time. So either way the House can impeach him.

I don’t think the 25th amendment will take place right now. The cabinet members that are still with him won’t go for it.

I agree. I think Nancy wants Pence to go down with the ship. I think she is playing the long game to make sure he can't run for office on his record. Just my opinion. Not really based in anything except her actions.
