Guest
The biggest dilemma in this situation is that far right people need to be integrated in society rather than excluded as that is what already happened with suspending Trumps Twitter account and Democrats openly treating Republicans as their enemies. They are not. The radicalized minds who systematically try to destabilize the trust in media, democratic institutions and try to influence education of the people in their favor are the ones who need to thrown to jail. And as we have seen not all Republicans are like this. Ofc a disturbingly high number of Republicans still supports Trump after all that happened but that is because he still is in charge and has a great influences on monetary issues that work in the favor of Republicans. Now Trump joins this platform and his alliance is getting bigger and bigger and isn‘t even under the control of liberal companies. When they are excluded that way they are given the perfect bubble to feed their fascist and dangerous ideas and grow their base until they feel strong enough to attack their enemies and destabilize society with even greater impact. These bubbles need to be dispersed and their leaders like Trump taken into jail before America is heading into a state where civil war isn‘t a matter of if it is coming or not but when. On the one hand, we could at least track and hear what those pricks had to say so openly. On the other, they now can coalesce in their own vacuum and continue to radicalize. I personally preferred to be in the know rather than in the dark. Regardless, everyone has been so spineless like Pence. And neoliberalism won’t fix this. Even once it settles down, Trumpism and nationalism aren’t going away. America is really a failed state. I can’t abandon my family (they aren’t bad people and aren’t trumpers) but once many pass away, I’m moving outta here. Hope my degrees are portable lol I think it highlights the importance of moderating this content early. These large social media giants have been integral in hosting and spreading this violent, racist, conspiratorial content and now its grown so large that it’s moved beyond these sites. At least now people are less likely to come across this content and become radicalised- they have to actively search this content out. Hopefully this is a lesson and moderating content like this in the future becomes part of these social media sites terms and conditions so that it can be eliminated early. IMO sites like Google should also be working to prevent sites that promote violence and extremism from appearing on their search engines. The echo chamber is absolutely worrying though. I’m not sure what the best approach is to de-radicalise these people and disrupt their communication. Freedom of speech is a very American ideology, and obviously part of the US constitution, but I’m warming up to the idea that dangerous speech that meets ALL of a certain criteria (eg. in-factual, defamatory and likely to cause harm) should be banned and that it should be illegal to host. Unpopular opinion I’m sure but other than a “slippery slope” argument, which is a logical fallacy, I don’t see how speech stating a certain political party molests and sacrifices children to Satan and is subverting democracy to elect their own leaders is helpful to society or any functioning democracy. This site will fall into ruin just like Parler did yesterday. Every new iteration of these platforms will require a backbone, and with moves from AWS, Apple, and Google Play, it's less and less likely that these platforms will get made when their creators know they'll fail. I don’t want a war and would prefer peace. But, as a queer person, these crazies terrify me and I sure as hell don’t want them reintegrated. They need a thorough wordview shift, empathy, etc. Not sure how that will happen when they downplay experts and science eek! I really hear you, though, because group and intragroup divisiveness will tear the group and society apart. Perhaps we deserve it as a inequitable, non-sustainable system we live in. But I didn’t want to see so much harm done.

Its another shithole site for his neofascist supporters. Tragically, it also has it’s own servers, so it cant be taken down like the other far right app Parler, as Amazon just did so recently. It's obviously not impossible for them to host all their own operations, but the requirements to do that at a scale of a small twitter would cripple anything they have currently. Without an app, it's even less accessible, so it's pretty much doomed to either be super super slow and trashy, or just stop working all the time Since they won't be able to run ads, they'll also be forced to either collect a fee/donations or else all those servers will bankrupt them. Again, doomed. This kitten over here (meow)
