Obviously the album was initially pushed back because of COVID and some plans had to get fully scrapped, but the recurring theme with all of the tea we get is them being nervous and pushing stuff back because of the recent election, the coup, etc. COVID has been around long enough that news about it is practically white noise and they know how to work around it to some extent but the news cycle since October has been completely consumed by politics. I barely hear about anything else and couldn't tell you a thing about most recent releases despite intently following music. Pretty much every major release hasn't had it's full hype (look at Positions) and anything Gaga released would've been lost in the mix like everything else. You're not wrong. It seems that a lot of her peers haven't been pushing anything because of the political climate. I recall Ariana was posting nonstop when "positions" the album was about to drop, and even her focus shifted to the election cycle as well. And in terms of promo again, I think it's fair to say that Gaga and her peers would have been dragged to the pits if they tried to push new content given all the mayhem from the last week alone. Tinnitus15 50,725
Maybe the whole political activity is to build that serious image of Gaga for her role for Gucci...I mean she’s always been into politics but this year she topped it lol

I feel like moving forward the music industry is going to change. I wonder if promo will become a thing of the past . . Taking Miley for an example, she did do a lot of digital promo for the album but for some odd reason it didn't really work(And mind you Plastic Hearts is an Amazing album). It's like consumers aren't really interested in that anymore. Which makes me question, was Gaga right to not promo Chromatica? Are album promos dead? ...... I don´t think so... it´s the times... usually the big hits become big hits in clubs... when people go out partying... since Covid doesn´t allow that it´s difficult for all artists during these times.. even for Miley and Justin... The only person, who has done the right thing, is Taylor Swift, because she didn´t put out an album full of happy dance songs. Her album is kind of "soft, cuddly and melancholic"... because people sit at home and make themselves comfy with candles, a book and that song "willow" or "cardigan". It fits the time.
