Other Lana Del Rey-esc artists?

The title is awful, I know, but I really don’t know how else to put it so:

Does anybody know other artists that have a similar sound to Lana’s earlier work? I was listening to her first 2 albums and I am in the mood for more music that includes orchestral elements.

Does anybody know other artists that do orchestral music that is grand, glamurous & dramatic in a bright or a dark way with lots of background vocals, maybe even choirs? Perhaps even euphoric, melancolic and haunting in a pretty way? Any of this would be lovely!

I am a huge fan of music from the 40s-60s and I know a lot of artists from that time but I’d like to know if there are any other modern day artists that approach this type of sound.

I know Lana is very special and unique and that what she is doing could be considered a genre of its own and it’s a little rude to ask this way but I really don’t know how else to put it and what other referance to give you all but her as she is the only one I know of.

And to give you examples of the songs I am talking about, they are the following: Young & Beautiful, Blue Velvet, American, Ride, Cola, Million Dollar Man. To reiterare, music that has orchestral elements, not necesarelly that is entirely like that.

Thank you so much in advance!

Have you heard of Kali Uchis? :sara: Her first album Isolation is definitely LDR-inspired, with lots of influences from 50’s-70’s soul. It’s more R&B than alternative pop, but it’s overall a really great project. :)

Her second album is mostly reggaeton though, and predominantly in Spanish. A really huge change-up from what you’re looking for, I know, but check out Isolation!

I second, came in here to say the same! I think both of her albums are immaculate and she's definitely worth following imo, she serves music and looks.

Good sis Zella Day is heavily inspired by Lana and has worked with her lately.

You should check out Bat For Lashes! She's extremely talented and creative. 'The Bride' and 'The Haunted Man' are her most Lana-esque records, although BFL's career started in 2006. Here are some of her tracks I'd suggest you to listen to:

Kwamie Liv, Cosima ( a fav of mine), https://www.instagram.com/listentoflore/

also in fact : Hako Yamasaki (a jazz genius from Japan) and Men I trust (a Canadian band with Lo-Fi aesthetic very melancholic and psychedelic) - those two are my fav discoveries of the year.

:O thanks for introducing Fløre! I'm two songs in her latest EP and I'm already a fan:bradley:
