EU citizens will be banned from using ID cards to enter UK from October

British interior minister Priti Patel is using Brexit to change the rules so that European Union ID cards can no longer be used as travel documents.
Instead, visiting EU nationals will have to present passports at UK borders.

I feel like that will backfire massively. All of my friends use ID cards instead of passports.

I went to the uk a few years ago and I had to bring on my passport, so everything is the same I guess. They even checked it and did the whole process, the only country I have visited in europe that does than

 

Even in Switzerland (that's not from the European Union) I was only asked for my ID

I feel dumb, I never knew you could use anything but passports already but I've never taken other ID abroad before.

its just easier to travel with an ID since it fits in my wallet  i only use my passport if im going to murica or asia

Ah I was pretty sure you guys were able to travel with a drivers license or identity card  Im from Germany and we never needed a passport for travel within the EU
