I think we’ll just to just agree to disagree.

I'm sorry to jump on the thread, but

Time is real, it exists wheter we humans consider, calculate, work with it or not. It is proven by science and it is actually fundamental in natural phenomenal and physics (try searching for things like the "event horizon").

This is the time @Economy refers to.

What I think you are considering, are the social constructs related to the calculatiom of time, i.e. the days, weeks and such. I agree these are all social constructs just to try and "regulate" time, as there is for example no real meaning why days should start at midnight and last 24 hours, or why a second lasts that long.

So time as we perceive it, IS a social constructs. Time itself, of course isn't.

It's like saying, you don't believe in lenght. It's a dimension, it exists. The way we perceive it and measure it, however, is a social construct.

It's just the same, as time is the 4th dimension.

This. U explained it maybe in better wording than me

There are constructs in how we classify time and the numbers we use but time it self is real

That example of a length is a perfect way to describe it @Miss Dolly...

to say something is 1 metre long is a construct. We can just as easily say 3.1 feet, or 100cm or divide it up in some other way we could invent and give that measurement a name

But that length is still there. That stick with whatever length it's got has a set number of atoms and stuff and that's not a social construct... What we call the measurement and how we define it is the construct

Time has a lot of thresholds we made thresholds for (seconds, hours, days etc). But time is there... No matter how we define it, it is space time... And no matter how we decide to measure it, all thresholds we decide to give a name (like a second) are ultimately made up of Planck time which if it exists the way scientists think it does, that one is fundamental, there is no social construct for the smallest unit of time

I just heard this on the news and they said 'scientists are considering deleting one second from time' and it made me laugh it just sounded crazy :laughga:

Do you feel him sir?

I don't understand why tho? It's only logic that the planet would get slower with time with dissipation of energy, isnt it?

If you see me posting like crazy, I'm either bored or procrastinating.

It's not. It's literally the 4th dimension :enigma:

No... 😂 Time is 'separated' from space in a sense that time is not a fourth dimension of space. Instead, time as a numerical order of change exists in a 3D space :enigma:
