Yes, it also could have been just exploration and fluidity, but he made a big deal out of it to remove himself from the idea

Well, I always took his efforts to remove himself from it as a respect thing. Maybe I look too fondly on people, but I read it as "I don't want to do damage to the gay community making it seem like a phase so im going to explain with relative depth about MY personal experience with sexuality."

but again maybe that's just me :laughga:

I remember seeing an interview where she said that she´s a "straight woman" ... I just don´t remember the interview... have to look for it.

Maybe she has changed her mind throughout the years... opinions and sexualities can also change over the years

She said to a contestant on Drag Race that she is not "A gay woman" but understands, that dosent mean she isnt Bi, she has never said the words that she is "straight" ever, some things allude to her clasifying herself as an ally but as a woman who openly has dated many men and hasnt had a public relationship with a woman or faced any of the hardships that gay people do daily she dosent want to claim to going through the same thing, none of that means she isnt bi, but she thinks that liking *** isnt enough for her to stand up as part of the community and would rather act as an ally?

Several times. Most recently, she speaks about it quite a bit during "Poker Face" at the Jazz + Piano Vegas shows. I think she also directly stated it at her 2019 NYC Pride speech?

I'm sure the times she has referred to herself as an "ally" were always towards a specific demographic during a specific conversation. With Drag Queens (on Drag Race, as somebody who isn't a gay woman, but considers herself a performer of drag), Florida's Gay Community of Color (during her Pulse speech, as a white woman), the Black Community worldwide (regarding Black Lives Matter and socio-political awareness, as a white woman), etc.

Sexuality is fluid and can change. I don't know what her thoughts are on her sexuality right now, but she clearly leans very much towards men. She may have experienced attraction to women when she was younger, and maybe that has since subsided. This is okay and we don't need to crucify anyone who acknowledges that they have had a change in their sexual/romantic preferences as a poser or fraud or ""eX-bIsExUaL"" It is okay to experiment with your sexuality.  And maybe Gaga still does experience attraction towards women, I don't know and I'm really not that interested tbh. But my guess is homegirl isn't gonna be dating a woman anytime soon and that's ok.

As others said, I "think" she might have meant she was flexible on the Kinsey scale—a lot of people are—even if she dated men primarily. She basically said something like since she hadn't had a full on, serious relationship with a woman she felt uncomfortable calling herself gay since that implied she dealt with oppression she never faced. And yeah, a lot of bi people or people who are flexible on the scale don't necessarily call themselves gay.

That said, back when she first started out—before she got super famous—there were pics of her all over women (some are posted in this thread) & even during Brian's jazz show she and one of the topless dancers were all over one another in the background of some pic. Sexuality can be very fluid and I'm always uncomfortable when someone claims someone is "lying" about being bi for attention because it seems to erase that there are a lot of people who are very fluid on the scale. I'm sure it does happen once in a while and yeah, drunk random girls occasionally kiss one another in bars for attention but I feel like we should take people at their word. Lastly, when Gaga came "out" it was a different world-even in 2008/2009-and it could have hurt her career even if there are some famous bi women. It was very different 10-12 years ago than it is now.

*I have two different friends who primarily dated men but had brief hook ups with women and I know someone who has had the reverse (primarily dated women but has had some very brief hook ups with men). That sort of fluidness is way more common than people think.
