Yes! I am ready for a ballad album.

Gaga has Voice, Technique and Emotion, so she is a triple threat while doing a ballad, the girl serves everything.

I am authistic, so don't be offended if I make a mess sometimes.

Monsters really overestimate how well recieved ballads are. Time for some tea...

Million Reasons had the SuperBowl, the most watched show in the US, by far. Without it, it was a downright flop, worse than the likes of Perfect Illusion or Marry The Night.

Shallow had the Oscars and the movie that basically worked as promo. It was a hit before the performance, but not a huge one.

Stupid Love had a better chart run than pre-SBHTS Million Reasons. It effectively had no promo, while MR was promoted to heaven and back, on varios shows and events.

Rain On Me peaked at #1 on the Hot 100 and stayed in the top 10 for four weeks. Shallow only peaked at #5 and fell out of the top 10 after two weeks. There's no real reason to believe it would have climbed back if the movie wasn't as acclaimed as it was.

The basic idea is: if you believe that BalladGa would have more commercial succes than DanceGa, you're most likely very wrong.

As a side note, though... it would be cool to see her release a ballad as the lead single for a change.

Doesn't MR have really good recurrent streams? And it's a talent show  staple. It is bigger than it's hot 100 positions suggest.

Yeah! 500m streams without that much playlist support during it's chart run. Imagine if they invested MR on Spotify, it could have 700-800m streams now and have more recurrent streams.

At some point yes, but not very soon imo. She just now, after 7ish years, finally got back to dance-pop, it would be nice to have at least 1 more "pop album" before she makes another pivot. And she has ton of more ground to explore- industrial pop, hyperpop, imagine if she made Chromatica an orchestral house album (not just the interludes), etc. Now more than ever she has the space to truly goes balls-to-the-walls experimental pop (if she wants to).  And tbh, looking at the recent mini success of Judas and the recurrent criticism of Chromatica as "safe" for Gaga, it's not like the public is overwhelmingly against her giving us her experimental magnum opus.

Gaga could release an industrial electronic album and GORL I CAN DIE HAPPY

I can't bear the thought of her completely becoming a safe, adult contemporary ballad artist.

I know OP didn't necessarily mean that type of ballad, but it seems like a lot of fans do want super safe, generic, Adele-style acoustic pop ballads. I just can't fathom why anyone would want that from her when she has the daringness to do so much more. Anyone with a half decent voice can do that stuff, Gaga can do better.

Yeah, the idea that she needs to drop everything and churn out exclusively HAC music is just begging her to become Pink and comes off as people aiming for easy chart success more than anything else. She can deliver ballads while also doing stuff that's musically interesting (also pretty much all of the non-pop stuff on ASIB is clearly traditional country with blues/folk/rock influences and not Adele lite so...). Imma need her Kate Bush chamber pop era with the lead being like Shake It Out by Florence :vegas:

No... it has to be an EDM track... something that is quite "experimental" and maybe not so mainstream... like Scheiße, Government Hooker, Alice, Babylon or Replay...

If they had promoted these right and make a cool video, I´m pretty sure they would´ve been hits

Honestly read the title as "Should gagas next lead single be a salad?" :billie:

n e waze... I think she could have a good soulful powerhouse ballad as ha lead... from a slowtempo intro to EARGASMIC POP BASS AND SYNTHS

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmjazz would still be okay tho

but (HEAVY) METAL WOULD BE A REAL SUM'N SUM'N :ohwell:
