Economy 52,854 Posted January 4, 2021 Share Posted January 4, 2021 I think there's a 3rd option that's in between to hold back vaccinations or not We could save 2nd shot for the most vulnerable in the first prioritized group of most vulnerable that are most likely to die or be hospitalized Then for everyone else less at risk give 1 just for now I'm not saying that's the best option to be clear. Rj Barker 3,331 Posted January 4, 2021 Share Posted January 4, 2021 The 2nd shot will be given between 3 and upto 12 weeks, They are pretty confident that it'll be effective for long term protection. It's not like they're dleyaing it for 6 months. Yes there hasn't been testing of that theory, but they know better than us. I would rather they vaccinate millions of more people with 1 dose and return life to normality faster then keep everyone locked up waiting for 2 doses. We know the first one gives some immunity so it's bound to have a positive effect with regards to hospitlisations which is all that matters. Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

I mean it's literally their job to know these things. And it gives me more faith the UK did the right thing, now other countries are seemingly following suit.
