y'all can't read one post without making racists comments. everytime one person feel the need to say something dumb and offensive and immediately another 10 people must defend it with even more problematic statements, depressing af

Gays being racist what’s new lol. Hating on genres rooted in black history and culture, is not a cute look.

All for calling out problematic behavior but not liking hip hop is not racist LMAOOO

I find Drake’s music boring but good for him! Hate that the list is so male dominated 🙃

You really don’t think gays continually discrediting black artists is not a little sus? You really think so? Gays constantly discrediting trap, R&B, hip hop is definitely coming from something more complex than just not liking the genres. As a matter of fact, I personally don’t enjoy R&B nor listen to a lot of trap for example, but I don’t plaster everywhere how much the genres suck, asking why it’s so popular as if it’s something hard to understand for some reason, saying things like the US chart sucks because urban genres dominate there. I’m not saying people can’t dislike it, it’s the way they express that dislike constantly, the way it’s expressed, that comes off strangely.
OP said he wondered why urban music was so popular. Generalizing all urban music ofc, and stating it as if it’s hard to comprehend it could be popular. Tell me how that doesn’t come off weird, please do. Gays in forums sh*tting on urban genres is so exhausting and definitely rooted in something more.

Sis this is so off mark it’s not even funny and I’m a lib SJW usually lmao

if u dont like POC/black people just say that

okay wait hold on, saying that they don’t understand why a genre is so popular is not racist. not liking the sound of a certain genre of music is not racist

Honestly don't see the Drake appeal and I really like rap and hip-hop :laughga: Happy for his success, yay him, but I am absolutely *baffled* by it lol

I guess it's purely a matter of taste. I happen to really like him and find some of his vibes and beats very unique!

i am not a fan of the term “urban music” myself, i am not defending that. but the genres that are generally accepted as “urban music” is OK not to like. disliking a genre or genre produced by mostly black people is not racist in itself (unless it was BECAUSE they are black). idk, i don’t think i’m doing a great job of trying to explain my point

Kinda surprised how low The Weeknd is. He’s had hit after hit after hit since like 2014.
