Wow, Drake’s numbers are ASTOUNDING. :legend: He’s such a legend in the rap community, can’t believe he’s achieved so much in only 11+ years in the music industry.

For those of you that don’t like him and are asking what people see in him: ummmm.... there’s a lot of music and culture that exists outside of the sugary pop bubble you live in with popstars and divas. Y’all know that, right? :awkney: Not 100% sure about the rest of the world, but in America hip-hop and rap dominate a lot of the charts. But even then, he’s super versatile.

First of all, as I said his music is very versatile. He has hip-hop/rap, R&B, alternative R&B, trap, pop, dancehall, bounce.... He even has Latin-genre hits to his name that he’s had features on! And also the fact that a lot of the production on his albums is SICK. :firega:

Secondly, he’s obviously a great rapper who has worked hard to get to where he is today. The hype that he started with before he even dropped his debut album has only continued to get bigger and bigger. As a huge hip-hop fan, it was honestly so great watching him rise into the mainstream back when pop is what dominated a lot of the music scene.

And third of all, he makes music that’s appealing in so many ways for moods/feelings: happy, sad, sexy, having sex, partying, dancing, relaxing, reminiscing, crying, feeling nostalgic... There’s a reason why almost anything he touches becomes a hit (such as being featured on other artist’s songs). Obviously his label gives him a big push (and that definitely plays a big part), but he wouldn’t still be as successful if his music wasn’t at least somewhat good. I truly believe there is at least SOMETHING in his discography for everyone.

The same British "culture" that conquered more than half of the world and had approximately 335,672,317 black people under Crown dominion (waaaay more than white and mixed people) is definitely "dominated" by white people, yes.

where is the point of this? because I don't see any relation to what I wrote. unless you wanted to boast that you remember something from your history class.

“I don’t like Rap Music”

Gagadaily: well, you obviously have a problem with black artists. Why are you discrediting black music and black culture! You’re obviously a gay who hates black people, and has underlying racism.”

Me: goes on to blast Whitney Houston, Sade, Toni Braxton in my car.”

SOME OF YOU REACH SO HARD- you honestly look foolish. Just because someone doesn’t like rap, doesn’t mean they are trying to discredit black people. I don’t like Jay Z. I don’t like Eminem: I don’t like rap. And I refuse to let you over sensitive, over reactive twinks speak for me, or anyone who doesn’t like rap. Get over yourself, and check your own issues before you decide to PREACH something you don’t comprehend.

Because this website is full of people obsessively waiting for someone to say something that they can possibly use to voice something that has nothing to do with the topic. On this website, it’s usually about racism.

I literally quoted the part of your comment I was referring to. "...and james bond is very much embedded in British culture that was once dominated by white people." Wtf does "once dominated mean"? It was never "dominated" by white people unless you go into some racist territory to explain your reasoning, even more if you want to justify why Britain isn't a "white" country nowadays. I was showing you a number I found after five seconds of googling "population of the British empire" (source for 1911 population, back at the Empire's height) to prove that there is not such thing as "British culture dominated by white people". Do you even know how to interpret texts?

Just say you lack the comprehension skills to process what’s being said to you and move on. You might not be racist, but you are ignorant.

My. Lawyer. Liked. That.

by domination I meant britain was ruled and created mostly by white people. I do not judge its demography, especially I do not include their colonial conquests, because it seems to me that history has already defined it as lawlessness. so England has been dominated by white people for most of its history. and I dont value or judge it in any way. it's all about the fact itself.

I disagree but that's not my point. Why should James Bond be white only because Britain has a white majority? tf? Under that same logic every superhero created in the US should be black.

Justin and Ed are so boring :ohwell:

Wish there were more females up there - however, if BeyoncĂ©, Taylor, and Adele didn’t keep their albums off Spotify for awhile, I’m sure they would be on the list.

what is this twisted logic?

maybe because the creator of james bond made this character white? I just mean respecting someone else's creativity and work and accepting the original as it is. it's that simple

When will you people understand that race isn't something central to the majority of characters? God, you all seem to defend a character being white due to the "author's wishes" (as if the franchise didn't get past the original story already) but when it's white washing you are as quiet as ever, or say that it is "exaggerated outrage". I'm tired to having to explain this time and time again. Educate yourself

of course, the argument of the typical fools: educate yourself. your opinion cant question someone's education. saying that race doesn't matter in the overall character is a simplification. unless you only watched 50 shades of gray then maybe yes. in many cases, race is the dominant and total character-defining element without which many plots and stories wouldnt be possible to create and represent. but I won't argue with you anymore, it's nonsense.

Get off your high horse, SJWs. So much thread derailment. That wasn't racism, jeez.
