JLo for a half of her career didn't even sing in her own songs, so don't compare her to Mariah

I don't mean to say she isn't successful. Of course, she is. BUT, she currently fits what you describe as a local artist, and even in the US she hasn't got a number 1 album in years.

Peak positions mean nothing in some situations. For example, I am shocked to hear that Hero only reached 1 in the United States.  This song is a classic on her discography, and I think it's better known than Without You

I want to know what love was really a big hit here in Brazil, but i know that the song doesn't did well in other countries  At least, she came here to do a show in the same year, thanks to the success of the song.

And about her not having any more number 1 albums ... she has a 30-year career. It is difficult when you reach that milestone to remain super successful. Which brings me to the following question: Has Jlo had any # 1 albums in recent years?
