They must now a thing or now about the world's geography when they ilegiminatelly incorporated so much land from all continents into their empire. :poot:

And that was my point.......btw, it's "illegitimately".

Well tbh it doesnt make sense to sing New YOOOOORK when ur performing for London.

Am I going to sing Champs Elysées in Hawaii? Why would u? That's literally off topic and weird

Is this irony or just xenophobia? English people are the most well travelled across the world..Maybe you should read a history book.

This is a JOKE

Didn’t watch this show but Alicia has always had questionable vocals

She should get a vocal coach, those high notes were not it

Ahh the old xenophobic hatred of the English. Now it makes sense. Some old wounds will never heal i guess...Too bad.

Lmao Fergie is not from the UK :laughga:

At least she could’ve sang London Bridge if they wanted songs from the past decade to be performed :billie:

Imagine if the opposite happened and someone sang a song explicitly about London at midnight in NYC. People would poop their pants over that too. You guys just love to complain about people complaining.

Also there's a reason why artists usually tailor location names in songs to the places they're touring.

Exactly! That's why Gaga sings New York, America etc. instead of Nebraska in her live performances of You & I.

I am authistic, so don't be offended if I make a mess sometimes.

So true, the first time I watched her live I was truly disapointed.

Easy when the song isn’t a tribute to New York, packed with lyrical references to New York, and directly mentions New York constantly throughout

Lol You really think xenophobia against colonizers exists:bear:

Anyway let her sing what she wants and let us abolish nations all together starting with the UK:teehee:

That’s true. However, I find this entire argument very silly. Anyone who’s ever heard of Alicia Keys automatically associate her with Empire State of Mind among her many hits. Maybe the BBC should’ve proceeded with a lineup consisting of UK artists as opposed to relying on American entertainment?
