Let me rephrase, for people who are unaware of the appropriate things to say, I’d say it’s a big misstep, yeah. She’s been really supportive of LGBTQ people in the past, I think immediately casting her to hell for saying something highly ignorant isn’t helping anybody. Yes she said something incredibly awful and hurtful, but I want to give her a chance to make things right before making more judgements on the situation.

These same people are the same ones who see no issue in telling people how they act or what they do is gay *cough cough* Shawn Mendes... what she said was ignorant but y’all do way too much and have to learn how to not let random people affect you so much. The cancel thing is cringe and needs to end. If you don’t like her, voice that opinion then move along. I can’t force a racist to except me nor do I want acceptance. Some people are simply ignorant. Ignore them and push forward unless they are violent and unruly. Just my thought

First of all, can we all address that the “parentheses” in the title aren’t “parentheses” at all  I cringed every time this mistake was made on the 1st page while people critiqued the mistake of another

Yup, they were, I’m not saying they weren’t malicious. I would like to think that if she knew she’d be insulting a whole group of people that love her, she wouldn’t say it. It’s possible to be ignorant AND malicious in my opinion.

I really truly don’t mean any disrespect in this thread. What she said is completely terrible and she needs to be held accountable, I’m agreeing with you. I’m just trying to add a potential point of view.

Tiffany says in the video the woman wasn't transgender. 

She is saying that she asked the lady if she had a penis because she was upset by being called a man in the show. So, Tiffany is saying there is no reason to listen to those comments, since they are untrue to her. 

Now, had Tiffany said that to a transgender woman, the words take on a different meaning - and had a group of men attacked a transgender woman with those taunts, I don't think Tiffany would've used the words she did when referring to what happened. 

Is the issue that it is offensive to trans women because women who do have penises would be offended by what Tiffany said... since it could be interpreted to imply that having a penis as a female is 'bad'?

I can understand that - but you have to take into account the context... and the context is that she is talking to a cis woman, not a trans woman, right? And that means she wasn't talking about penises in the context of transgenderism, which makes the transphobic comments unfair and unjustified if transphobia is to be defined as hate towards trans people.

She doesn’t deserve to be cancelled. This woman had made a career of foolish things and bafoonery. In the two decades that she has been on TV, she is bound to say something that is not acceptable. The human side of her slipped. Just like all of us, this is her chance to gain knowledge on the community, and truly understand trans people. It was her responsibly to apologize. It is now her responsibility to educate herself and grow from her mistakes, just like every human on this planet. Just like every member of this forum. Y’all aren’t better than her. Y’all have all made mistakes and learned from them. We have to allow her to do the same.

Oh no I have no problem with people criticizing her or giving their opinion. It’s when they try to imply that it isn’t transphobic without understanding the ins and outs of what transphobia is and what trans people deal with. I don’t think it’s anyone’s place to forgive her /for/ trans people, y’know?

I needa see the full video of what happened because I’m confused. That clip seemed really transphobic, and her explanation didn’t really have much to do with it. Am I missing something? 
 

I will say I was shocked to hear her talk in such a calm voice. “You guys are mad at me today and there’s no reason to be”, I almost spit out my diet sprite.
