Noone really for the whole decade...

The first half was Gaga and Katy, and I wanna say it then went Taylor and then Ariana...

But with streaming and new ways of accessing and playing music, there are less people on top these days and more just... multiple people doing well at once? And if you factor in streaming services, lots of underground artists are just as popular as those on the radio now, but in streaming so... who even knows any more!

I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.

gaga owns 00', 10' & 20' too with just one album

Britney released Oops I did it again in 2000 and she was the biggest popstar on the planet Gaga was still in high school calling in on TRL to request for Britney, just like the many artists of today like Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez.

it’s as if the world just pretended Britney didn’t exist, she was still riding high till 2004. Gaga didn’t debut till 2008 :excuseu:

I don't care about the guys. For the woman? I can't pick one.

My Mt. Rushmore is Gaga, Taylor, Adele and Rihanna.

(Katy is close, but RiRi and Taylor had bigger singles, Gaga, Taylor and Adele had bigger albums, Gaga had a much bigger influence on others, and none of them dipped as dramatically as she did. Bey is also close, but Lemonade was almost five years ago. And the Lion King soundtrack...nvm. She owns the 00s with Britney, so it's cool.)

Female is easily Taylor or Rihanna but I’m going to say Taylor cause Rih had two long music breaks before and after Anti

Male is easily Drake

I agree with @SevenWonder. Gaga definitely ruled the early 10s with TFM and BTW and her success that time is hard to beat because it was beyond music, singles, and sales. Taylor's 1989 and Adele's 21/25 eras are the nearest highlights of the decade but I think with A Star Is Born and all her from projects from Cheek to Cheek to Joanne, Gaga clearly has a wider influence than the two. Katy was also the IT girl in 2013. Bey also did great with self-titled and Lemonade but her distanced image strategy have definitely affected her influence on the public, which is just namecheck most of the time even before a proper evaluation (for example: Black Parade being nominated in the Grammys GF). In the end, we are blessed we have powerful women in our generation, as well as the newer ones like Ariana and Dua.

I think it’s safe to say Britney owned the entire 00’s (especially seeing as The Fame was released towards the latter part of 2008, and it’s repacking at the end of 2009)

How can people even consider Taylor? Her global sucess is embarrasing considering how big she is in the USA, in conclusion she is a local so theres no way she ruled this decade outside USA :haroon:

This is true. Even Billie Eilish was much bigger in the last year of 2010s than Taylor during whole decade:haroon:
