The discussion was about Willow being a #1 song and then somehow shifted towards it being more ''meritorious'' because it was solo (despite falling so many spots so fast but that's another topic). And then I replied about how a feature is not a guarantee to succes. I didn't randomnly bring anything that wasn't already in the track of the discussion.

The second part of your post is the textbook definition of a Twitter/ atrl Taylor Swift stan in many ways.. It shows that you are biased and that's the motivation behind you defending Taylor so vehemently.

We'll see what happens when Christmas songs drop and it drops with them. I'm really surprised that there was so much push from her label to get this song #1 in its debut week, as opposed to encouraging it to grow organically. Those remixes should have been strategically released every week after release or something. That'll ensure that it keeps the song out there and keeps interest in it going. Give the fans everything they want on day one and they'll buy it all on day one. Yeah, you may get a #1 single out of it but do you want the embarrassment of a potentially huge drop next week? The only time its acceptable for a #1 song to drop like a stone in its second week is a Christmas song, for obvious reasons. But any other song will result in a good few raised eyebrows about how much of a "hit" this really is when it was clearly just fan-driven first week front-loaded sales doing it. It was the same with Cardigan. It affects how your songs are perceived if this keeps happening to you. When Taylor got #1's in the past, they stuck around, they remained in the public's consciousness, they are still remembered today. It doesn't look as if her recent #1's are going to go the distance. In fact, pretty much everything post-Look What You Made Me Do has been the result of fan devotion and not public devotion. If she wants to stand a chance of having those long-lasting hits again like she used to, she needs to space out the ways in which a song is pushed. But it depends what's more important to her - getting a #1 song at any cost (no matter how short-lived) or getting a hit song that doesn't go #1 but sticks around for a long time. I don't think she needs #1's at this point, she's built her legacy, she should focus on being an albums artist now. But then again, maybe she's wanting as many #1's as she can get now she's nearing the age that she herself says is the time when female artists seems to be abandoned, so you can't really blame her.

But regardless of what I think of her there's no doubt that if she does take 6ix9ine's record, she won't be deserving of that. Trollz's drop was a rightfully dubious honour for a truly despicable artist. Taylor may not be everyone's cup of tea but at least she's actually a talented writer, a better singer and, you know, isn't a criminal. I'd rather these negative records went to artists who brought that negativity on themselves.

You're a drama queen. If I'm defending Taylor Swift, of course I'm a fan of her. You don't have to explain that. However, I'm not defending anyone "vehemently". Just pointing out that your argument was absolutely pointless.

At least I don't go into other threads about various artists and tear them down like you're doing. I'd rather spend my time celebrating artists I do like rather than being an anonymous keyboard warrior tearing down successful artists.

Could’ve happened this year if she had chosen a different lead (still love SL tho, no shade at all) and had done more promo. But I don’t care about chart positions, I only care about the actual music. But it would’ve been nice just to shut all these fake ass fans up

Especially since Cardigan went no.1 without the cheap tricks. She’s definitely capable of getting no.1 songs organically. She is the biggest pop star in the US, after all
