She has *catchier* songs and songs that are more of a "bop", but 911 has arguably her best songwriting imo. It seriously has impeccable writing (and production), the first verse alone is a masterclass 😌

911 is a great song but I find most of the lyrics to be not a good look. For me what makes the song is the production.

IMO, the only good part of the song lyrically is:

Keep my dolls inside diamond boxes
Save them 'til I know I'm gon' drop this
Front I've built me around my oasis
Paradise is in my hand
Holding on so tight to this status
It's not real but I'll try to grab it
Keep myself in beautiful places
Paradise is in my hands

I love it. I don't think it's her best. But it's really, really good. The line "please patch the line" sung in a panicked, desperate, urgent, haunting harmony perfectly encapsulates the theme of the song in four words. It gets me every time.

Wet Fire

One of the.

But preach

This song will be one of Gaga's greater achievements as a musician. How she reconciles the contrast between the sonic and the lyrical. It's so out of the way that it creates its own way.

Oriane

The best from Chromatica for me, along with Replay.

With that said, I really consider Chromatica to be not as good as the rest of her music. So if I compare 911 to her other songs, I'm not sure it would even make top 30.

For me she struck gold on this one. I'm a "strange" Gaga fan in the sense that I actually don't really listen to her music. I heard everything, every leak, I'm the first to listen to a new release, to watch a new music video, I'm front row at her shows. But she's not an artist I play on roadtrips for example. But ever since it's been released, I listen to 911 daily and it never gets old for me. Guess I could say it's my favorite song of hers.

Let me tell you why.  The HARD synths, that pulsing beat, her falsetto in the prechorus, the vocal effects, the LYRICS!!!!

I’m on Wellbutrin and Zoloft.  I know what it’s like to have to be on pills to be sane.  I know what it’s like when you miss a dosage or go a long period without them.  It literally is like a bicycle crash in your brain.  It’s why I got the chromatica Symbol tattooed on my arm.

911 is a Dancefloor banger about antidepressants and panic attacks.  Like.  It doesn’t get any better than that.

It obviously means a lot to you. Fair enough. It’s a grand song, but she has better bobs IMHO.
If it were that good it would be a bono fide hit. The melody is lacking, and it doesn’t have a meaty enough hook for it to be a pop smash.
