there’s actually two cleopatra movies in the works, the gal gadot/patty jenkins film and also another that’s rumoured to be directed by denis villeneuve which is the one Gaga is *loosely* rumoured to be attached to - so we don’t know as of yet whether she’s playing cleopatra or not.

Ï could be your girlfriend for the weekend...

Talking about Cleopatra reminded me about the incest thread. The Ptolomaic family was something crazy!

Cleopatra married two of her brothers.

Iconic Bitch

Gal Gadot is talented. I hope she finds success, and honestly, I pray for the world, because it's time to unite.

She does not deserve the backlash. It's okay to have opinions, but deep things are deep. Not shallow. You don't fix any problem by avoiding a person who can show you a difference perspective. It's fine to agree, it's also completely great to disagree. We are many notes, we are the noise - why can't we live in harmony? My mind keeps trying to rewind, why are we puzzled, human kind?

We can find reasons to love each other. Yet one reason is enough to cancel a whole universe-body-person? We all see the world through different lenses. Gal is good at heart. It's about seeing through one's intentions and motives.

Because behind every bitch stands an iconic one.

You are going to change the world. You can see through the veil.

We need to bring love to all people. Israelis and Palestinians are in our hearts.

I hope that soon we start talking about the real stuff. Share ideas, information, visions. Hate isn't a material that gives birth. You don't get pregnant from hating someone. You get pregnant from uniting with another person. Time to finally detox our minds and work together for the higher good.

We are smarter than this. There are many better ways to solve conflicts. We just don't think or talk about them. A conversation that involves fear or hate is one that will never help us truly connect. Do I know every solution? I don't, but with all of you, all of us, we can do it. Let's not let our leaders decide for us. Our world leaders need to embrace interests, and they need to help countries make peace to help each other. That's like opening the door for people to interact with each other. But that's their part. We have a part here as well. We are all humans here, and maybe it's time we start caring about some bigger things than just our tiny selves.

Love you all. Really. Unfortunately, I still love you even if you don't love me - because maybe one opinion is enough for you to cancel me, or maybe it's my identity, maybe color, race, religion, location, or something else. Can you please challenge yourself? Can you please love others? Try. You'll find it invaluable.

Because behind every bitch stands an iconic one.

It doesn't really matter how much they lived in that area if they kept the lineage fully Greek. Cleopatra's identity as a ruler was linked to her Greek lineage so it's not like she got accustomed to Egyptian society or customs so she became Egyptian ''culturally''.

In the end, as it's the case with all Mediteranean people they aren't fully one thing. Southern Europeans (people living in the southern regions of Spain, Sicily, the south of the Italic Peninsula and Greece) have some North African admixture, and the natives of Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt aren't what most people would call the black race either. So arguing about race should portray Cleoaptra doesn't really fully make sense.

People in North Africa aren’t typically black. This is the biggest misconception about North Africa.

Exactly! Caucasian phenotypes or genes can be found in all Northen Africa as a gradient. Most people living close to the Mediterranean could pass as slightly tanned Europeans, and many berbers and people living in the Sahara look rather Middle Eastern. Even in countries as far south Ethiopia/ the Horn of Africa there are people that don't look like typically black race.

From what I've seem, lots of Americans have a very close-minded and simplistic look on ethnicity and race and only picture Western Africans as being the 'default African'. In reality the continent is full of many unique and diverse ethnicities and tribes.

A lot of them think Latino means Native American and African means black :laughga:
