Hyperpop as a genre has been gaining notoriety with critics and pop music fans and is usually hailed as the future of pop music. However, so far it has not reached the mainstream. The closest it has gotten is with Charli XCX, who had a string of big hits, but she has failed to get one since she switched to the hyperpop genre. An artist like Gaga could be the one to finally make it go mainstream, she could expose millions of people to a type of music they haven’t heard. I also would like to see what she could bring artistically, I feel like she could bring the catchy songwriting and VOCALS to a genre which is usually production centered.
