An 18 year old is a legal adult not a child. Anyone who breaks the law deserves punishment, despite what people like you believe.

Yes, she was punished with a fine and community service. They now want to make a show of her to deter others, did you read the article?

No one should go to PRISON especially not a CHILD

What's wrong with you?

18 isn't a child anymore. But then I don't know rules in the Caribbean.

OP:

I think the first punishment was just. The second one is just petty.

Yes. This is days old news. Community service isn't enough punishment for this idiocy.

Which is why she had a fine as well? They even state they are using this as a deterrent, not as a punishment to fit the crime.

She's rich, a fine is nothing but a minor inconvenience. But we aren't going to see eye to eye and I have no interest in arguing with someone who is defending a criminal, so have a good day. 🙏

I think thats too harsh... She did test negative when she arrived there anyways.

You can still test negative while the virus is incubating.

Good. You can’t use white supremacy to save you this time. I hope she serves all 4 months.

Ironically, those cops aren’t wearing masks.

Masks are mostly not mandatory in The Cayman Islands, there are only 26 COVID cases  and latest ones are travellers. That girl probably was inside prison where masks are mandatory or she has to wear it because she is a traveller.

They try to protect Cayman Islands from Covid so people can live normal life and it seems they are quite effective so it shouldn't be surprising that person who potentially could spread the coronavirus is punished this way.

Honestly, foreign countries have a right to enforce their own laws; if people don't like them, they don't have to travel there and willingly break the law. I have no tears to spare for her. She knew she was violating the rules and didn't care. Let Junior Aunt Becky spend some time behind the slammer.
