Re Imagination of Chromatica Singles

Let's just a sec to re imagine the singles from Chromatica. If it were up to me I would have launched them in this order:

1. Alice (it would have been the most played song of the year, yeah :firega:)

2. Sine From Above

3. Rain on Me, just when the album was about to be released.

4. Sour Candy as a promotional single, as it was

5. Stupid Love, promotional single

This is a fun thread, not a hate one or shade to the actual singles which are great.

Hmmm SFA as a second single is an interesting choice I must say, and SL as a promo single? Is that after or before release?

I personally wouldn’t play it safe as far as the lead single and go with

1. Replay

2. ROM

Promo: maybe SFA or Alice

3. SC

4. FW

5. Babylon

think this has a nice mix of general appeal and fan appeal

She could've milked every song to be a single. They don't all need mv's but FW, Replay, Alice, and Sour Candy would've dominated radios. anyways i would've done this:

1. Alice (suprise release) + mv - January

2. Stupid Love + mv - Feburary

3. Replay (promo) + animated mv - March

4. Rain On Me + mv - April

5. Sour Candy + lyric video (album release)

6. Free Woman (promo) + lyric video - September

7. Babylon + mv - October

8. Christmas Tree - December

hard to even fathom which parts you should believe

Lead: Alice - video by Steven Klein - classic DarkGa, commercial enough for radio, experimental enough for TikTok

2. Rain on Me - video by Robert Rodriguez as released - I stand by this being a great second single, and collaborating with Ari got everyone hyped

3. Free Woman - video by Jonas Akerlund - y'all hate on this but it's classic Gaga and would have smashed imo

4. Enigma - backstage/performance video from Vegas - still pop, but brings some of those stadium rock ASIB/BTW vibes gp eats up

5. Babylon - video by Nick Knight - I just think Babylon was a missed opportunity for SOMETHING. It's so fun, different, concise and weird. Would be a great end to the era, just as it closes the album.

If the fanbase didn't have such an egregious reaction the the Vegas shows, I think ENIGMA would have been a really interesting lead single. It's a great song, and with the right amount of hype and visuals, it would have done okay no matter what (kind of like SL).

I think Alice would work good as a promotional single leading up the album release (kind of like Hair was to BTW).

I'd keep everything about Rain On Me the same as the second single. Ariana hype, great visuals, incredible promo (for what could have been done) leading up to the album release- all perfect as it is.

I think Sour Candy could still ride some of the hype from around the album release if it was released around the mid-to-late summer time. Lyric video, music video, maybe some virtual performances- the fans would eat it up, and I think it'd have cute, moderate-high success if they milked it.

911 I would keep purely as a visual. One of her absolute best, and I think the timing of it around early-autumn was perfect.

3 points in and ready for more
