Canada Raising Carbon Tax Over 500%

Justin Trudeau announced the current carbon tax of $30 per ton of emissions will gradually rise to $170 by 2030 an increase of 566% from current levels

 

Not all of Canada is automatically under this plan. Most Provinces have their own carbon tax plan and therefore do not have to be under the Federal system, however Provincial Carbon pricing plans must be approved Federally in order to be exempt from the Federal system. 

 

Only 4 Provinces that failed to create their own program to Federal Approval are currently under the Federal Carbon Tax system and only 1 Province (Ontario) is of any population size of significance

 

However the much tougher Federal Targets may suggest the Federal Government will also get tougher on minimum standards Provinces have for their own systems if they want to be exempt from the National plan

Some Provinces are already stated they plan to fight it in court...

 

My Province Ontario already failed miserably by wasting time they could of used to make their own Program they were more comfortable with but instead spent the time in court trying to fight the carbon tax idea and it ended up backfiring cuz now were under the Federal Plan and we have no say in the rates or how it goes
