Taylor Swift’s surprise new album Evermore debuts at Number 1 on this week’s Official Albums Chart. Evermore was the most downloaded and streamed album of the week.
Released last Friday less than 24 hours after it was announced, Evermore earns Swift her sixth UK Number 1 album. Only three other female artists have six or more chart-topping albums in Official Chart history: Madonna (12), Kylie Minogue (8) and Barbra Streisand (6).
Swift has achieved her six Number 1s in record time among female artists, eight years, surpassing Madonna’s 11 years (between 1997 – 2008).
Buoyed by the success Evermore, Swfit's previous album Folklore rises 13 places this week to Number 21.

Taylor Swift earns the three highest new entries of the week following the release of her surprise ninth album Evermore. Album opener Willow debuts at Number 3 - Taylor’s 11th Top 5 – while Champagne Problems opens at Number 15, and No Body, No Crime ft. Haim lands at Number 19, marking Haim’s first UK Top 40 entry in five years. This means Taylor has now claimed 21 UK Top 20 singles in total.
 

Mariah Carey’s All I Want For Christmas Is You holds for a second week at Number 1 on the Official Singles Chart

Mariah Carey's All I Want For Christmas Is You finishes just 3,600 chart sales ahead of Wham’s Last Christmas at Number 2, and is both the most downloaded and streamed song of the week, with more than 10 million listens across audio and video streaming platforms.
