I continue to be unsatisfied with users' explanations of why Gaga and her team, specifically, are so messy with the scrapped songs and albums.

Obviously, every artist will have a lot of demos and a lot of unreleased tracks. But with the Haus, it just seems different

Remember when a whole album got scrapped because David Bowie died :bradley:

We were supposed to get some amazing Intel Gaga collab

Lady Gaga was supposed to perform some super cool Intel performance for the Grammys

“Everything will change” :wtfga:

Then David Bowie died and she changed it to a tribute and scrapped this with a new intel performance that was.... :wtfga:

Then in March she scrapped the entire album and made Joanne with Mark

when gaga herself referred to Chromatica as LG6 leading up to it I don't understand how people can think that C2C and ASIB soundtrack qualify as her LPs. She clearly doesn't consider them as such. and that does not make them less significant. They're just not considered a Gaga LP. one's a soundtrack to a movie and another is a duet cover album.

I think it was more to do with her split with Taylor than anything since Joanne has a handful of breakup / bad relationship songs.

Well the split with Taylor is assumed to be later in the timeline I think? Like after she decided to start to write Joanne.

Didn’t she mention losing Taylor as she joined ASIB cast during the Joanne recording sessions? I think it’s in 5f2

Grammy performance was Feb 2016 and the ig breakup post was in July so

She likely changed her mind about the record way before because why would she not perform original LG5 if it weren’t because of bowie

please enlighten me to death

I’m not 100% but that sounds about right. I always sit and think about how many bops Gaga has on a hard drive in various states of production just collecting dust. Her list of unreleased songs is endless not to mention the amount of demos all of her released songs probably have.

She was still recording for the original LG5 in January (with Elton), so it could be possible that Bowie’s death played some part, but there was no album ready by then. There’s no proof she was going to perform LG5 material at the Grammys anyway. It was entirely possible that she had a medley of her hits ready or something. I just think that her relationship with Taylor had a huge impact on her changing her mind with projects, especially if LG5 had a lot of love songs.

ARTPOP was such a cumshot, it literally just screamed 'gaga' and all of the things gaga is. It was literally all of gaga, she showed out hard for ARTPOP until there was no gaga like that left.

I don't think that means what you think it means?

Reading this mafe me realize just how messy counthing her albums is. So right now, what is the general consensus?

1. The Fame

2. The Fame Monster

3. Born This Way

4. ARTPOP

5. Joanne

6. Chromatica

Side projects: Cheek To Cheek, A Star Is Born OST

I mean, that doesn't exactly make much sense now, does it?

C2C and ASIB had their own eras.

Joanne fits much more cleanly into the C2C/ASIB phase than PopGa.

If we're going by the books, TF/TFM should really be ciunted as one album.

So which is it?? :enigma:

LG1 - The Fame

LG2 - The Fame Monster

LG3 - Born This Way

LG4 - ARTPOP

LG+TB1 - Cheek to Cheek

LG5 - Joanne

LG+BC1 - ASIB soundtrack

LG6 - Chromatica

I don't get what is difficult. This way of counting is just based on who sing on the album so...

When her contract leaked it stated that TFM would only be counted as her second studio album if it sold more than 300k in the US and I think it did that :ally:

So contractually TFM is her second studio album

Oh, I see. Man, that's a low estimation on Interscope's part :ladyhaha:
