I honestly expected much higher sales. With wonder and positions I believed that it was a natural fall for the artists but seeing now with Taylor, apparently the bundle rule really affected debuts. 300k is still a lot for any artist out there tho, she still slayed right and left and considering it’s her second album in such a short period of time, it's an even better scenario. If it's true about the physical copies not being available this week, it will be interesting to see her stability in the following weeks when it's released.

If the Billboard rule wasn't in effect here and physicals counted from the get-go... this would have easily racked up between 700-800k... again, given the circumstances this is right inline with Taylor's previous two projects...

I mean, with physical copies coming in two weeks, and signed ones after, the album will be no. 1 until February :trollga: how many female albums have spent over two months at no. 1 in the last years?

good point:nooo:

'The Life of a Showgirl' is out on Oct 3

This is still very good considering the new Billboard rules & the fact that she has no physical copies—also, people tend to underestimate Taylor's sales (her fans are really devoted & she usually ends up at least 50k above the estimated high end of her sales). I wouldn't be shocked if she ended up with 375-400k. IMO she'd probably do at least 500-600k if she had physical copies.

Actually, people keep talking about the Billboard rules... but I feel like the physical copies are probably hurting Taylor more. Her digital/physical sales are insane. I guess that's the consequence of doing a surprise drop with the new billboard rules in that physical copies won't count until they are delivered....It's one of the reasons I hope Gaga doesn't do a surprise drop (I don't think the anti-bundling thing will hurt her that badly considering Joanne didn't have bundles).

This is really good, considering the physical CD sales won't be counted this week. Wish they were considered tbh, even though they're not shipping this week, they were still purchased this week and reflect debut week sales.

Just like that ah.. Damn, how does she do it.

Its an absurd number for a second album in a crisis period and near christmas. Mindblowing

jesus the fact that this is “bad” for her standards is one of the most impressive things i’ve ever heard, especially in the streaming era. she’s queen

Adrenaliner

She is truly one of a kind artist

If anyone else (besides Adele, maybe Ed Sheeran) would do this it would flop hard
