That’s not why it got a low rating though lol. The lyrics are riddled with cliches and lack depth beyond the shallow “I love you” message. Also, does it not bother anyone else that he claims EVERY SINGLE SONG he has written since 2015 is about a girl he didn’t start dating until last year?  I’m pretty sure he’s lying but if not then that’s really creepy tbh

They're not wrong. This is a very cringey album about being in love and such an album can be very boring for everyone who isn't your love interest. It's so naive sounding and that final song...I think he just needed to pad the album out and added this pointless basic acoustic track which is basically just 2 lines long. If a guy wrote this for me, I'd be struggling not to show a horrified expression on my face the whole time. And I think he just put in Monster as a last minute addition too as it's the only song on the entire album that isn't about Camila and as it's got Justin on it, suggests that this was his attempt to get at least one hit out the album as there's precious little chance for another one elsewhere. But I can at least forgive Shawn for being a cliche as he's still so young. He's only just turned 22. At that age, it's perfectly normal to want to make big artistic statements and think you're saying more than you actually are. The problem is when artists can't grow past that stage, even when they're nearing 30 and married with a kid. *cough* Ed Sheeran *cough*

I thought the same thing. He's been dating the girl for nearly 1.5 years, how come he's wondering what it's like to be loved by her? And that song Teach Me How To Love tells you everything you need to know. I think so many guys think that's so hot and exactly what a woman wants to hear but in actuality, it can just make a grown man sound...clueless, to put it politely. I heard a woman say the other day: "This song is basically him saying he's bad in bed." The thing is, he seems too naive to realise this is a potential suggestion of such a song, he seems to be under the impression that this is a really sexy song. The bit about drawing a map with strawberries and getting on his knees in among this otherwise naive young song about first love is very awkward.
