I was a Gwen stan before being a Gaga stan. This woman literally shaped my adolescence, but I have a right to an opinion, esp on a forum in a thread about her. I'm not sure how that's derailing the thread. She's really smart and I know this isn't all she has to offer. I'm hyped af about her new album. I'm hyped af about her new album. i wasnt talking about your opinion and i wasnt talking about you alone. i was talking about the endless back and fourth talking about what is allowed to be said and what isnt. you dont have to defend your opinion to me, because people can love or hate this song. others opinions about music never changed my own it wasnt gwen talk and went on for way too long. people trashing the song atleast talk about it in its dedicated thread, so im super fine with that for me right now its a cute song thats probably gonna be listened to when i go through the album. not a skip for me but also not a song i have on loop for 50 times You will learn respect! No. But it's catchy and fun, and it's a callback to the ska feel of No Doubt. Now, personally I prefer No Doubt's songs to Gwen's solo songs (I could never get into her faux Harajuku aesthetic), as I'm more of a rock girl than a pop girl (and I love ska!), plus I was listening to No Doubt back in the 90s, so I'm excited for the rest of her album based on this song. I miss No Doubt Gwen so much and have spent the past two days revisiting No Doubt's discography. The lyrics actually are pretty clever in terms of paying tribute to her career, and it's really only the "coupon" part I find cringeworthy. Gwen is an excellent songwriter. Anyway, while the song isn't groundbreaking, I think it's meant to create some distance between "country Gwen" as influenced by her beau Blake, and the sound she's hoping to cultivate going forward, which appears to be a throwback to earlier in her career. I'm grateful that the song prompted me to dig back into No Doubt's music, and I look forward to what she serves us next. I don't think you refrain from calling a movie shitty. Yet there's a whole team behind it. Guess what? That's how show business works. When you put your work out there to make a profit, the public has the right to have a say, and the celebrity won't hear you if you're crude.
