She is a SINGER right? So why she doesnt sing live... We have so many other talented artists who deserve much more than that dancer/performer. :ohwell:

She is first and foremost and entertainer. Her legacy is huge and her influence on pop girls even today is unarguable. Just because you don't like her, does not mean that she is not deservingly one of the biggest pop stars ever to walk this planet.

This

Britney is no longer what she did or did not do

Her image, archetype and persona is bigger than her as a person

I'm just going to say it:

There would be no contemporary pop music scene without Madonna's work in the 80s and 90s.

Britney Spears has had 6 #1 albums on the Billboard 200

These two being ranked so much lower than Katy Perry is a joke. They should even be higher than gaga tbh. What even is this magazine

You can't deny Madonna's impact but Katy is bigger than Madonna and had a huge cultural impact. Madonna really was the one who opened the door, but just because she done so doesn't mean that Madonna is the best or biggest female popstar ever.

She’s literally the best selling female artist of all time.

This isn't a list of the best singers. If it were, Britney would be nowhere to be found, because you are absolutely correct that she has, at best, a mediocre voice. You won't find dissent from me on partiality to live vocals, and I think that Gaga gave a spot-on comment on lip-syncing with her "you better have some ****ing pipes" line.

However, while we could squabble over whether the King, Queen, or Princess of Pop is more deserving of the number one spot, we're well past the point of arguing over Britney's legacy. Songs like ...Baby One More Time, Oops..., Toxic, etc. are still referenced by today's artists, the teen-pop style of her first three albums is still incorporated into modern releases, her live performances remain some of the best-attended and best-reviewed two decades after they began, and her Instagram following is over 27M (remember, Britney had already released six (!) albums by the time Instagram was created).

She is easily one of the ten biggest popstars of all time.
