But I’m sure the 600,000 people in Jerusalem in the year 70 would look at us and laugh when we call 2020 the “Worst Year ever”. That was the year Titus decided to have Roman armies completely destroy the city and kill thousands of people in the process of doing so. I won’t get in to the mass starvation in Jerusalem during that siege. Then Titus had a parade and huge show celebrating this senseless cruelty (there is still an arch celebrating this slaughter intact in Rome) followed by him becoming the emperor of Rome. At which point a volcano erupted, completely destroying the city of Pompeii, Rome endured a horrible fire, and Titus himself died two years after becoming emperor.
