And it will definitely go longer. It’s not competing with every show on air for its ratings- just the shows on FX. And AHS at its lowest points is still higher rated than any show on FX. I've been hoping they go Lovecraftian this season since it appears water based. I also hope that in its run AHS does: a mountain/wintry season; a pure sci-fi installment; and a Western/desert season. Space would be neat but I think Murphy said no to that when someone had asked. Also, I know Murphy is busy but ACS is, in my view, almost better than AHS. Hope season three comes out soon! I don't agree that it's good, I think it's gone completely off the rails in recent seasons. That's neither here nor there, though... Really, exactly what you said about the viewership; it just shocks me that it can still hold these ratings as it's not a very 'mainstream' feeling show, if you know what I mean? I'm sure when Ryan Murphy conceptualized the first season, he thought it'd be a one and done thing...maybe three or four seasons, if lucky.
