Reason why Halsey dragging the Grammys is hypocritical

In my my most humble ghey opinion:

She’s been dragging them since her speech at the AMAs where she said she would rather win an AMA award because the Grammys “are not what they seem” 

Ok that was a good point of her, because it is true, Grammys are not what they seems and can be corrupt.  

So if you think they’re not valid and not what they seemed then why do you keep submitting your music for a Grammy? Wouldn’t you make a better point by not giving them any submissions? But it seems she wants that validation she desperately keeps saying she doesn’t want...

How can you be against some awards that you personally don’t think has any validation but you keep sending your submissions every year? Kinda hypocritical 
Stand for what you think is right and stop giving them any attention, or is she expecting to get all that attention back...  like girl where’s your integrity to your speech...

In her defense, it's mostly the labels deciding what to submit and what not. I don't think she has mich to say in the matter. On the other hand, she'd probably change her tune if she actually won one lol

I imagine her record label has the most say when it comes to submitting music for awards. Award shows are HUGE publicity/networking opportunities labels would kill to have their clients be a part of. Im almost certain there is WAY more to it behind the curtain.

AMAs are probably even more fraudulent because they make the audience believe their vote counts when in reality they award whoever attends, perform and/or is convenient to their interests.

Well she's not an indie artist submitting the music herself. As far as I know she is signed to a record label and they also want to get music out there so of course they want to be considered. At least she's speaking her mind, there are a lot of artists who never get to say a word. We're also very lucky that Gaga is "the boss" and has so much freedom of speech and can record the music she pleases now.

I don’t think she has that much influence in being submitted to the Grammy’s or not. It’s her label.

Her saying she'd rather win AMAs is just so  considering they don't even take quality in their consideration ONLY popularity.. That award is literally a popularity contest.. C'mon girl..

I think most (if not all) of these awards and reality shows are the same... It's pure spectacle and propaganda so that people turn on and see the publicity that gives them money. 

The VMAs for example only give it to the artists who go to their fading show. Even the Kids Choice Awards are fraudulent.

I would like to see some proof, or at least evidence that suggests the existence of, these bribes that she referenced as well as the very vague "corruption" that Abel tweeted about. If true, it could shut the whole thing down. But if it goes nowhere, like the claims by the ex-Grammy head (a woman, I don't know her name) that was doing all the interviews last year, she should just move on if she doesn't care

Many here just love to defend the indefensible under the act of knowing better than anyone about the industry. Cardi B chose not to submit WAP. When Justin Bieber found it strange that the Recording Academy considered him for Pop rather than R&B he didn't put the blame on the label. Looks like at the end of the day artists do have some say... what do we really know.

If you guys love this Halsey girl then good for you, but don't deny the fact that she's constantly ruffling feathers out of spite and bitterness. She always had that entitlement to her. Sis already wants every door open for her, instead of using that fire to her advantage and focus on her artistry.
