I only enjoyed the first half of the album. The second half sounded like from another album compared to the first half.

This album feels like it could be released in two parts.

Love track 1-7.

High sounds country to me and feels out of place, so does Angels Like You, but I love that song. High on the other hand, not so much.

I was so hyped by Bad Karma, because some of the comments here, but I found myself disappointed.

I wished she would just pulled TFM with 7-8 track album.

I liked the first half but second half was not it for me. Some songs especially ballads/midtemp songs felt like they’ve been misplaced.. They don’t fit the album vibe. Idk.. Overall I liked it but it’s missing that nice flow feeling when you’re listening from start to finish.

I thought I was the only one felt this way.

The first half of the album has the newly recorded stuff whereas the other half were all for albums/eps scheduled to be released over the past few years. I think if you play around with the tracklist it wouldn't be as jarring....maybe 😛

It contains Prisoner and Midnight Sky so it has the newly recorded stuff? Other than High but i guess where we draw the line at half...

Of course she's not gonna do a full rock album, she's a pop singer. All of the songs have rock influence but at the end of the day she's gonna sound pop because she's Miley Cyrus. And this album is everything but "playing it safe":toofunny:

And? If anything, the covers and few rock songs proved she could do that genre, and she does it perfectly. Her being a “pop star” doesn’t mean she’s only capable of that and should only do that. She’s proven she can do more. By playing it safe I meant she sold this as some 80s rock influenced album, even with the rocker chick look and all, but she only half delivered that. Many of the songs didn’t fit in with the vibe she was selling at first, at all. Songs like Night Crawling, the singles, and WTF is what the album was advertised as. And then you got all the country rock ballads that sound like Hannah Montana songs. It was just inconsistent to me. I’m not asking her to do a death metal album lol.

I think maybe your scope of what 80s rock sounds like is a little skewed :laughga: this "country rock ballad" sound that you keep writing off as not being on theme was HUGE back then. Bands like Poison were exactly this sound and they were filling stadiums and topping the charts - they were the face of hair metal.

...Anyway :bear:

Not saying you're not allowed to have your opinion, but 80s rock was more than Billy Idol and Joan Jett.
