Remembering "Hey Girl"

Yeah, it's up there with Bad Kids, Come to Mama, and Plastic Doll as far as her cringiest songs. It just feels so halfassed and uninspired, but still somehow overly trying to seem earnest.

I set this song as my alarm once and I never woke up :billie:

I would've woken up just to turn it off and help my ears. Ffs that song is awful.

Such a wasted opportunity, given it had the Florence Welch it should have been something as bombastic as Queen of Peace/The Edge of Glory

Oh well :laughga:

Better Day

I have loved Hey Girl ever since it was released. It was the perfect fit for Joanne and it would feel empty without it

I feel like this song sample’s this really old song, but don’t know what it’s called and don’t even remember any of the lyrics. It drives me nuts every time I think of it because I don’t know what that damn song is called :bradley:

Hey Girl is the wonderful first parter. Patiently awaiting for the sequel :flutter:

Spoiler

Queen of Peace is one of the greatest pop songs I have ever heard

in another world, remove Hey Girl, and put Florence on Sinners Prayer. Both can get loud in the chorus.

Hey Girl wasn't the right song for her.

When I heard they were going to collab I expected a much different sound, something that was more grand and sweeping like Florence's music. This felt like they were holding back. Love the sentiment of the song and I don't hate it. It's just that I love Benny and the Jets so much that when I hear Hey Girl I'm tempted to turn it off and but Elton on instead.

According to Gaga I'm a ****ing rad bitch

I would say it's rock, too. I just classify the album under the "pop" umbrella, albeit kind of loosely.
