I keep both FN and Chromatica very close to my heart. I think Gaga's album is more mature and elaborate, more "serious" than FN. But Future Nostalgia is so fun and well produced.

What made the real difference was the early, almost accidental release of Future Nostalgia, this year when Covid and confinement was just hitting the planet so hard. Plus DSN and FN singles prepared us also to that landslide release !

I still think Chromatica is a superior album musically with a strong relistening factor. As good as it is, and besides of some songs, FN thrill is a bit gone for me now whereas Chromatica still grows on every spin.

Being less present in promoting Chromatica was Gaga's choice we all are aware of. And I it deserves respect. Gaga doesn't need more Grammy's to prove her talent. She always take her task seriously and she's a brave queen. Many more huge awards await on her further career.

Right now, let's cheer up for Dua. She deserves it.

Y'all write too much. Nobody is tearing into Dua Lipa. I think we can all agree that Gaga deserved a lot more than two nominations, and its left fans quite puzzled. Naturally you'd look at how other people did their roll out and compared it to Gaga's. I believe that was the intent of this thread; to ask people what they thought and 'who got the nom in Gaga's place'. Even The Weekend... the grammys this year are a total joke. 

Personally I disliked Lipa's album. I thought that it was very one note and the same repetitive sound throughout. There's only one track from that album that I still listen to. However, I accept that the singles were received well from that album so her nominations seem deserved. I think Chromatica is a far better album interms of production, concept, structure, and the music as a whole. The difference between them was that one was promoted the house down, and the other barely got any. And that was the point I made to begin with.

I expected more Gaga noms tbh, but FN is a great album (and better than Chromatica imo). The way I see some ppl here diminishing her achievements makes them look like sore losers

No Chromatica didn't do better "on the whole." It only did better first week number." FN is 88 on metacritic. Chromatica is 79. FN has more units total. Stop lying it's embarrassing.
