But, their stories still deserve to be told, so hence why she felt compelled to create this movie.

There are some people with aspergers for example who would be able to cope with it and there are people on the spectrum who have made it as an actor. Like the type of autism being displayed in the film; it would be difficult to cast someone with the same level of autism.

When movies are made to supposedly empower them and show a "good" image of them, you'd except said movies to practically empower them by giving them the opportunities they lack. Instead they hire people who do not fit the role and who can get cast in 500 other movies and so they take away such opportunities from people who need them. This. I think Sia should have tried very hard until she could find an autistic person who was also a good actor. I think her first response was due to poor communication skills rather than any intended malice. It's common to hire actors to play parts of people with certain skills or occupations rather the hire people who actually have those skills or are in those occupations. Actors make the parts more "real" than the actual real people they portray. I think Sia was ineloquently trying to say that. Too bad things spiraled out of control, as her later posts were really bad. Again, poor communication skills. In the movie Rain Man, Dustin Hoffman played the part of an autistic person very well. I live outside the space time continuum.

This is just acting and I don't get why suddenly they want actual trans people to portray trans characters, gay people to portray gay characters and so on. I guess it wasn't the best way to respond to criticism but haven't read the whole thing or watched the movie yet, we'll see. a huge part of autistic and neurodivergent representation is perspective. austistic people see the world in a different way to everyone else, they experience and process things differently, in a way that no matter how hard they try, a neurotypical actor would never be able to replicate. There are many forms of autism. This is like she would make film about person without leg and you would tell her to just find actor who doesn't have one of limb. JRCF29 8,217
I think the title of your thread implies she mocked autistic actors for having autism, which I did not see in the Tweets. Don't Call Me Gaga
KingRedd 3,139
Funny that her response is literally how many Twitter stans would normally react and they legit can’t handle it because it’s coming from a celeb. When will people learn that celebs can clap back too? Why do people think celebs have to be nice to people coming at them? Lmao it’s an Enigma.mp3 May I Read You? 😎
