Gaga Should have Chromatica adapted into a manga

A Chromatica manga could easily help build the world of the album, and it wouldn't involve potential Covid risks or a ton of physical effort on Gaga. It could even be adapted into an anime film later on (once again, just involves the hire of Japanese animators/studio).

Also, the photoshoot, music, and concept lend itself perfectly to the 80s french sci-fi/horror anthology magazine, Heavy Metal:

It could also be in episodedic form, with each track a new story if she wanted it to be a visual album rather than a film.

Plus, it might help the album be more remembered as an interesting, quality entry into her discography.

Plus, it could be cute:

The possibilities are endless for the style and genre too (cyberpunk, neon noir, throwback Sailor Moon, intricate, and adult-oriented like Akira. Or Ghibili-ish. Anyway, lots of possibilities.

Also, she could really serve some fashion & looks w/ this project:

It's a great concept that could've been done around the release of the album, I don't see them doing something this expensive now that the album is dead everywhere.

This is assuming Gaga is super passionate about the album & wanted to make a visual album ala Beyonce without catching Covid or exposing others. I mean, if this were me I'd consider shopping my concept around or saving my watch money if I wanted to adapt it myself.

(once again, it assumes Gaga has that much remaining passion for it, lol, a reach to believe, I must say)

Also, if she wanted to adapt her concept into a manga novel series, I'm sure Interscope wouldn't mind liscensing it out somewhere for a cut. I mean, even Gossip Girl has a manga. Surely it wouldn't be impossible for Gaga.

Edit: if a film adapation ever happened, Whitesea or whatever her name is for the instrumental score again. Let her snatch awards.

I think it's obvious Gaga's heart isn't in Chromatica anymore otherwise we could have gotten (a lot) more than what we have gotten this era. I love Gaga with all my heart but I think we'd all appreciate her telling us if she cares about this album anymore so a) we can move on and b) get our refunds from the tour when it inevitably gets cancelled and c) the refunds from the signed posters and other merchandise which is nowhere to be seen.

Yeah, but I think it would be the ultimate easy thing to do if she cared to expand on it, not even speaking revenue-wise, just a passion project type effort to flesh out the album more. It's kind of killing me that it's such a huge, epic sounding album, but we'll never get more visuals from it.

That was just an art reference tbh, not what I would expect it to really look like.

This is not as expensive as a music video. You can actually profit from it. You just need a person with nice art and a small team for scenary, "reticulas" (I don't know this word in english) with 20k dollars you can have a series for a few chapters.

Honestly, the japanese magazines would fight for the right of publishing a Lady Gaga manga, there are many manga artists with great art that can't score a successful series that would love to do that. Maybe a magazine like Cookie would be the ideal for it (they published NANA that is a manga about music mixed with soap opera towards female audience).

I can see it happening in almost any demographic magazine, it doesn't fit shounen jump or shounen magazine for sure, but it could fit Morning, Afternoon even Nakayoshi that specializes in mahou shoujo would be a nice fit even Nakayoshi being targeted at younger girls.

Honestly, this would have been an incredible idea in the first half of 2020, when it actually seemed like there was some worldbuilding in the Chromatica universe.

But i don’t know if they ever thought that far to begin with, unfortunately. Maybe the tour would have played it up?

3 points in and ready for more

So, I'd love that happening. It can be licensed everywhere in the world.

Courtney Love has a series (awful BTW) with character design by Ai Yazawa (such a waste).

This series could easily fit in magazines from Nakayoshi to Afternoon, Morning, Gekkan Shounen Jump, Jump Square, Shounen Gangan, Chorus, Young You...

Several IDOLS have manga series.

The best thing about it is that it can be published in many, many countries.

It could easily fit into almost any demographic: shoujo (mahou shoujo), josei, seinen or even shounen if the series is more focused in battles and stuff. It's cheap to produce and very profitable.

Yes. But her main team might not be that advanced in thinking or planning :billie:

At least we have most famous Japanese influencer, actress, and comedienne parodying ROM.
