I think Hotel was a special case in AHS history, the filming was kind of long mainly because of the cast availability and the fact episodes were much much longer that season (I remember Gaga started filming weeks after it actually started while being involved in every episodes). But usually the filming starts early summer for a wrap in fall. I have the feeling this year will be a try for AHS in early year and American Horror Stories in fall.
