I think she kind of stopped caring during Enigma.

We know she was struggling for a long time about being 'Lady Gaga', and wanted to escape it.

I think, looking back at Enigma, you can see that quite clearly. It was almost like she was parodying 'Gaga' and wore the craziness as a (very cheap) costume that she could leave on the stage and forget.

She told Billboard that filming the 911 MV was the most creatively alive and artistic she's felt in years. In that video, the 'Gaga' was there but in a really committed and authentic way. Everything came together, I suspect, because she was genuinely passionate about the costumes and the themes and how they communicated a broader message.

In Engima, the message was convoluted and I don't think it had her signature stamp on it. We know she changed her original concept, and I think that shows. I just don't buy that Enigma is something she loves or is passionate about - especially when contrasted to 911, which I think is the most 'real' Gaga we have had since GUY.

I'm of the opinion that if Enigma had been a world tour it would've received MUCH less criticism here :triggered:

Seeing this show front row was one of my favourite Gaga live experiences, and I've seen every tour (including Cheek to Cheek with Tony and the Monster Ball 1.0 x2).

Jealousy is a disease, I guess! :vegas:

I'm happy you had a good time, but the whole "you had to be there, you're just jealous!!!!" argument is so weak:billie:

You enjoyed it because it's Gaga and you're a fan, of course seeing her in person would be exciting regardless of what she did.

Almost no one outside of the US saw the JWT, yet it never got mocked.

Maybe it's not because of jealousy, maybe it's because the styling was atrocitious, the 'plot'/acting was massively cringey, because the stage design was unimpressive, and because it was literally just her offering up the same stale old performances of songs she's been performing for 10 years with barely any changes to choreography or instrumentation.

People still here dragging Enigma when every single critic begs to differ :ladyhaha: And especially not when she served a gigantic Mecha robot and THAT Scheisse performance, the STUNNING mirror bodysuit, great backdrops, high energy....
