Cori Bush is litterally in St. Louis. A major city, Missouri's second. Her district is 99% urbanized. If you can find me a progressive candidate that's winning 60% rural districts, let me know.

Um? Land doesn’t vote. Poor struggling people don’t only exist in deserted towns. The same economic left policies that excite rural Americans, excite the working poor in the city and suburbs too. The fact she beat the neolib dynasty that was Laci Clay is something notable.

Don’t know what’s safe about a swing seat... they literally used to be republicans seats. Read the 4th tweet in the OP. These aren’t New York and San Francisco voters were talking about. Even Cori Bush won in red-ass Missouri. Progressive policies do not hurt people’s chances

Bernie’s campaign slogan was literally “Not me, Us...” what?? Bernie knew he’d have to use the power of activism to get policy done if he ever became president. Plus Cori Bush and others winning is getting a lot of attention online... there’s attention outside the presidential race.

also no need for a rebrand, Bernie and M4A are still popular and favoured and don’t need your personal approval. Anyone not voting for a good policy bc of who its attached to is idiotic and rarely happens. Like, when Florida just secured Bernie’s living wage policy, but not Biden themselves.

The people who use “far left” seriously, don’t care about its popularity. M4A increased in popularity despite being called too radical all primary long. Good ideas are just good ideas.

I mean we lost Florida because of Bernie and socialism stigma. We didn't win a minimum wage increase because it's attached to Bernie. It would be delusional to think that. Bernie would have lost Florida by a greater margin. Why do you care so much about rebranding a good idea? Messaging is super important.

“Not me, Us...” is an absolutely terrible campaign slogan. Hello, the first two word in Bernie's campaign is "not me."   Clearly that flop campaign slogan did not help Bernie win the primaries. Who wants a to be President, "not me" who wants a better country "not me" who wants the message of his campaign to be about the people, "not me" it was almost as terrible as Hillary's Love Trump's hate where the first two words are literally "Love Trump" it's like the far left and center left cannot deliver a clear message. This is what I am saying. I am not saying the policies are bad but the messaging is super unclear. At the end of the day why not change the message to get a policy passed. Isn't the policy what's important? Why does it matter what it's called as long as it's called something that won't alienate people and gets passed.

It's like when Norwegian Cruise Lise decided to change their slogan to, "Why not?" There is a Million Reasons.mp4 why we should not take a cruise. Tag lines like that only focus on the negative.

I don't follow Cori Bush so I don't know what her campaign looked like, but she won a district that in the  2018 election went 80.10% Democrat and she only managed to bring in 78.9% of the Democratic vote. So there is that. I mean is that left progressives goal to win heavily Democratic areas. Why is she getting so much attention?

In a few years when the Democratic Party becomes the new Republican Party (while the old Republican Party perverts itself into a Trumpian-level cult), all these moderate Democrats will be sorry that they allowed their party to degrade.

well i should hope not, progressives need moderate democrats to win in my opinion, and vice versa. if the moderate democrats break off and join conservatives, we liberals will not win a presidential election for a very.... very... long time.

Bernie won Floridian Cubans in the primary, despite losing Florida. Clearly not that much people care. Florida said “economic left policy first, please” and meant it bc Biden still lost the state. I don’t care about rebranding when M4A’s popularity is rising... you’re the one who thinks its toxic bc “its married to Bernie”

and... what

“Not me, Us” is an amazing slogan because it means politics should be more than just the president doing things without the consent of the people. You don’t just get to cut the slogan in half and draw some out of pocket meaning. Chile literally what. was. that. Sorry but that paragraph was absolutely unhinged. Hillary’s selfish and clownish slogan cannot be beat.

Cori won against a neolib dynasty on a progressive platform. If you want progressive dems slaying in swing districts, they exist.

I disagree. If any group doesn’t care about the popularity of a particular idea or policy then there would be no point in promoting them or trying to win elections. The whole point of pushing a policy is specifically to increase its popularity.

Bernie did not win FL Cubans in the primary. Who lied to you? Bernie didn't win a single county in Florida during the primary. Stop with the FL Bernie misinformation. As a matter of fact in the highest Cuban density district 381 in FL, Bernie came in third behind Biden and Bloomberg.

I am so tired of talking about Bernie, but I more tired of misinformation.

Imo it's not just the same folks only convincing themselves each time when you see how GGD went clearly more on the left in a relatively short time.

I'm not sure if you have watched it, but the documentary "Knock The House Down" is great and features her rise into politics.

I guess the last part of my comment went over your head. I won't stop correcting people when they lie saying things like "Bernie won the Cuban vote in FL." :ladyhaha:

You're allowed to start your own thread about what you'd like to discuss instead. That's the concept of an online forum.
