Agreed. I didn't know about the EC until last election because I didn't really follow American politics (well I did a bit when Obama was running in 2008 because that sh*t was a historical moment), and when I realized they were the ones ultimately responsible for electing the POTUS, I was in disbelief. How does America have the nerve to call itself a democracy? Ridiculous doesn't even begin to cover it.

Technically it’s a democratic republic, not a democracy

Well what's supposed to happen, is the electoral college votes from your state will all go to whichever side wins the majority in that state. So your vote still counts, just in a different way than you would think

I hope we switch to popular vote tho. The problems that can happen with electoral college, like how it turned out last time, are not right
