They probably think the spike this will cause will be less than the ongoing spike created by Trump In all seriousness, expert after expert has expressed their faith that voting in-person will be safe AS LONG AS everyone has a mask on and is social distancing inside. Even if they are wearing a mask, that's not really safe. Not saying it will cause a massive spike in infections (it's not a Trump rally after all ), but I wouldn't call going to an indoor location with a gazillion other people being there before you 'perfectly safe'. To clarify: Not saying voting in person is unsafe this year, but people who are actually diagnosed with Covid shouldn't queue with the other voters and go to the same stations.
