This doesn't take into account the millions of Americans who don't have access to Twitter because they can't even pay rent. So, a glorified Twitter poll

Last week it said: "As of Wednesday afternoon, the AI system had Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden with 346 Electoral College votes vs. U.S. President Donald Trump at 192."

But today it's model shifted Ohio and Georgia toward Biden which I find really fascinating. Personally I don't see Georgia or Ohio red, but I wonder what Poly is seeing.

I'm going to check tomorrow morning and afternoon and see if anything changes. A blow out like this would be monumental. Personally, I don't see it happening because of low turnout among young Black voters and Latino voters, but unless they are showing up on election day in massive numbers...

The AI normalizes based on the demographic composition of people on social media. From https://www.design-engineering.com/canadian-ai-forecasting-u-s-presidential-election-1004035713/

“Polly primarily gets data from Twitter, and some critics wonder if she can accurately come up with a representative sample of the greater whole, when the majority of people using that platform skew younger, urban, and already politically motivated, said Gombos.

But ASI counters that Polly tracks algorithms from all of Twitter to identify users who reflect the demographics of each riding, so she can still find a way to balance the representative sample, he added. Polly’s algorithms also apparently make it difficult for bots to pass through.”

imagine if a few of the main pop girls said, we'll release a song together if you vote, people would sprint to the polls:gaycat:

367 electoral votes is within reason; Biden only has to beat the statewide polls in Ohio in 1% to get it, and have North Carolina (NC) and Georgia (GA) match their polling numbers. My personal guess is that Biden is going to get Florida: If we have a 2016 polling error tomorrow, Biden still gets Florida. GA and NC can go either way; the polling is really close, but if we have the usual good old southern boy antics, both states will turn red on account of some shady stuff, like what happened with the Mark Harris campaign in 2018. [1]

That in mind, and keeping in mind we will have good numbers for Florida, North Carolina, and Georgia early tomorrow night [2], I predict Florida will go for Biden by 1% or more (even a 2016 polling error gives him a .7% lead, and there are a lot of good reasons—e.g. fewer undecided voters—that we will not have 2016 again). North Carolina and Georgia might go blue; I think the votes are there, but it’s an open question whether they will be accurately counted.

If Florida goes to Trump, he has at best a 3% chance of winning; I would call it for Biden, even if Trump gets NC and GA. If Biden gets all three, Trump may as well call up Biden and concede (he won’t, because that’s not his character, which is one of the reasons I want him out of the White House).
