shoful 13,304
Anyone worried that this press about Gaga being “anti-fracking” will sway the ill informed voters who are still on the fence to vote against Biden or not vote? Obviously logically we all know Gaga has never said anything about fracking, but most of the people in the country don’t think logically. They will see something “radical” like this and go “ok screw Biden and her”. Also her video posted kind of mocks that southern rural person especially with the beer chug crush. Am I just being super anxious or does anyone else share this worry? "My name is Dita, I'll be your Mistress tonight..."
arrtpop 2,751
honestly, i don't think a topic like fracking could sway many voters at this point. also, if a biden leaning voter sees that they're anti fracking and they decide to vote trump, they probably weren't going to vote biden anyways. their position on fracking won't make too much of a dent if any at all. aphrodite
Gagaloo911 12,959
I can understand why you might be, but in all honesty nearly everyone is already locked in to who they support. Only around 2% of likely voters were still undecided as of last week, and I can assure you this isn't gonna make the difference when basically no one is gonna change their stance because of some pop star stumping for Joe Biden. But it's not about fracking, it's about jobs. PA's oil and gas industry employs over 100,000, many in roles directly involved with fracking. Literally the first oil well in the world was in PA. One could argue that these will be replaced by new clean energy jobs, but it is still scary for those workers and potentially enough to sway their votes/their family members' votes. G U C C I 5,397
I don't see how the issue of fracking would sway anyone at this point but the fact that big name artists are coming out to campaign, even at the last minute, could turn some off. Most middle Americans HATE when celebrities of any kind involve themselves in political races or issues.
monster4life231 4,304
I feel as though people have already made up their minds at this point. Those that say they are undecided may not want to voice public support for either candidate. When Trump supporters hear "Biden wants to ban fracking" from Trump, it doesn't matter what the facts are, they will believe it. As another use said above, if you throw in the words "radical" or "far-left" then it's simple to win people over. It's amazing how they've tried to portray Biden as a "radical far-left socialist", despite him being far from that. Conservatives/Republicans still use scaremongering about socialism equalling authoritarian communism which was prevalent during the Cold War. spread peace - #MJInnocent

ShayCristoforo 10,565
It won't get traction. For one, it's ridiculous. And two, we know Trump is a verbal diarrhea specialist. Get the pinot ready, because it's turtle time.

LilyLark 9,968
No. There's been studies and celeb endorsements rarely have any real impact. If someone's on the edge, Gaga performing for Biden isn't going to tip them over imo. I do think it hurt Hillary when there were so many celebrities giving so many speeches because of how the media covered it...not necessarily the celeb endorsements themselves. But Biden's had far less of that, and the celeb "endorsements" have been very low key (possibly because they were worried about a reaction like what happened to the Clinton endorsements).
