Rj Barker 3,331
Boris Johnson is reportedly preparing to impose a national lockdown from as early as Wednesday amid concerns hospitals across England are being overwhelmed. The restrictions could see everything except nurseries, schools, universities and non-essential shops close until Dec 1, according to The Times. Welp, I can understand the reasoning but this will decimate the already dying economy if rishi sunak doesn't give us another comprehensive package. Probably gonna lose my business and all of my 60 staff. Off to cry in a corner.

Curunir 7,510
Lockdowns have already been declared for France, Germany and Belgium. I'm afraid it's inevitable at this point I wish you the best of luck with your business

I'm more concerned for all my staff than myself. I would be ok, but the thought of having to make so many people redundant makes me feel sick. Economy 52,845
Based on data that has been getting compiled in some cities in my Province it doesn't even seem like businesses are the main source of transmission but rather it's personal gatherings and private social contacts whereas businesses where it's easier to enforce masks and guidelines are not the main source Makes me wonder what's the point of hammering the economy further if the lockdowns don't do as much as originally hoped For a lockdown to have true effect it has to be a full lock down including ppl cannot see other ppl and somehow actually enforced which is the hard part

But I think the point is to reduce other cases as well. And when people have nowhere to go, they tend to stay at home more as well. But 100% small gatherings are making this much worse. But like france etc they just try to slowly impose stricter rules to not cause an uproar. Ive been to the nearest covid hospital and its already at breaking point but i think such measures will only seat straight with public when the facts are so horrible. Which should be other way around. Democracy really has failed miserably. The way western countries are dealing with this makes for more debt, more social problems Ofc it works in part, peiople tend to stay at home more. Luke78619 23,559
If we’re gonna have a lockdown, it needs to be a 100% lockdown. No schools, unis or nurseries, everyone stays home with the exception of essential shopping. insta: good_lukeing | I have nothing else to promote

None of this separate rules for England Scotland Wales etc. OP: just want to give you a massive hug, it must be so hard. OMF 3,649
Boris is again waiting too long before taking action. They are obviously trying to keep the economy from sinking which is likely given they also face the terms and pay out for Brexit. However he is not prioritising his people and their lives. Boris is an absolute joke of a leader isn't he. As an island nation there is no reason why we shouldn't of had results similar to that of new Zealand. We are more densley populated than them but it surely could of still been achievable.
