SM Ent. officially announces new girl group aespa will debut in November

SM Entertainment officially confirmed that aespa was the name of their new girl group and revealed that the group would be making their debut in November.

The agency also explained that the name “aespa” came from the words “avatar,” “experience,” and “aspect,” with the meaning of “being able to experience a new world through another avatar of yourself.” The word “aspect” also means that the group has many different sides.

aespa will mark SM Entertainment’s first new girl group since Red Velvet‘s debut in 2014—and the agency’s first new group overall since NCT‘s debut in 2016.
